James Franciscus's second TV (his first was an episode of "Studio One") appearance was on the popular western "Paladin" starring Richard Boone. Franciscus played a young lawyer, Tom Nelson, who is at first reluctant to tell Paladin where his client, (accused of murder by a seemingly corrupt mayor) is hiding, and then is later reluctant to represent the man. Paladin helps the young lawyer obtain justice. Franciscus was just out of college when he played the part, but acquits himself well performing with veteran actors.
