The F.B.I. - "Force of Nature" (1967) and "Out of Control" (1968)

"Force of Nature" (1967)

Operating on a tip, F.B.I. agents Erskine (Efrem Zimbalist Jr.) and Rhodes (Stephen Brooks) arrest Charles Burnett (played by James Franciscus) and his partner in crime Allen Cole just as they are about to commit murder and kidnapping. The tip came from Burnett's ex-wife, Gloria, for whom he still has feelings. The ex-wife flees to the Florida Keys, her former home, before Burnett and Cole can be tried. Since Gloria is the only witness to the crime plot, the FBI agents and the criminals race to Florida to get to Burnett's ex-wife first. But as they all arrive in Florida, a hurricane lands, threatening the lives of them all. Erskine and a wounded Rhodes are with the ex-wife as Burnett and the hurricane both close in on her. Singer Glen Campbell guest stars as a guitar player of Gloria's acquaintance.

"Out of Control" (1968)

When a border patrol officer is found dead in an oil field Texas, the F.B.I. agents begin investigating the operations of a small oil company run by the charismatic and strong-willed wildcatter Mitchell Flynn, played by James Franciscus. Working undercover on one of Flynn's oil fields, agent Colby (William Reynolds) is seriously injured in an assault that results in the death of another agent. Investigating the incident, agent Erskine (Efrem Zimbalist Jr.) matches wits and resolve with Mitch Flynn. Having raised millions of dollars with his phony oil claims, Flynn has managed to cover his debts by tapping neighboring oil wells, and he will stop at nothing, including murder and blackmail, in his struggle for success.
